Treccani Courses – 2D Animation

2D animation and narrative design workshop for the Liceo Galilei in Voghera

Commissioned by Treccani, in partnership with the Galilei High School in Voghera, a training course dedicated to2D animation as a narrative and cognitive tool.

The laboratory accompanied the students through all phases of the creative process, from educational planning to the creation of the concept, from the construction of the storyboard to the creation of the final animation using a “bones” rigging, a technique that allows you to articulate characters in a structured way, simulating a digital skeleton capable of generating fluid and coherent movements. Some of the work was also developed with Scratch, used not only as a block programming environment but as a space for animation and narrative construction, allowing students to understand the relationship between code, movement and time.

2D animation has been used not only as an expressive technique, but as a thinking device: it allows us to break down movement, understand the relationship between form and time, develop design precision and build visual narratives with strong structural awareness. During the course, the students experimented with production coordination, learning to integrate technical and narrative skills, up to the creation of an animated video presented publicly as the final outcome of the project. The work allowed the development of transversal skills in the visual, digital and writing fields, strengthening planning, collaboration and awareness of contemporary audiovisual language.
